Keynote speaker : Marcus Orlovsky

Marcus’ thought provoking and entertaining manner stimulates ideas and discussion in audiences, and he is renowned for his ability to start or close any conference on a high. Marcus will have delegates talking for weeks after the event.

As Director of Bryanston Square, Marcus is fully committed to improving the educational experience of children. He works with schools, local authorities and the private sector in assisting them through change and educational transformation.

Prior to Bryanston Square, Marcus was Project Finance Director of Stanhope Properties (the joint developer of Broadgate, Ludgate and Stockley Park). There he was responsible for the raising and maintenance of some £2bn of funding. He read Economics at Bristol.

Marcus also works with several educational organisations: the Work Foundation in the UK, and AIESEC and IAESTE internationally. He has also been a director with CRAC, which is the UK’s leading charity aimed at continuing “lifelong learning”. He is a past member of the Board of the University of Manchester/UMIST Careers Service.

Jeremy Webb

Jeremy worked for 34 years with Barclays, the last 20 as a Corporate Manager, looking after (over time) some 950 customers of all different sizes and sectors. Success involved understanding the where, when, why and how of each business and bringing his financial and commercial expertise to leverage their business expertise for mutual benefit.

For the last 18 months he has run Webbery Associates Ltd (www.webberyassociates.co.uk) helping owner managed businesses in the areas of business and financial management, business planning and helping to raise finance.

Andrew Eastwood

Regional Director, London North Local Business
UK Retail Bank

Andrew Eastwood in his role as Regional Director for Local Business in London North focuses on delivering specialized financial services to small business – from start ups to businesses with an annual turn over of up to $1 million.

Before joining Barclays he worked for two large financial services organizations in Australia. Andrew has over 15 years experience as a career banker and has undertaken roles across Retail banking, Commercial and Institutional Banking.

The roles he has undertaken have had responsibility across retail distribution including both operational and strategic and various successful spells in leadership roles.

Andrew has a degree in Finance (Business Banking) and is currently part way through the completion of a Master In Business Administration.

James King

James has worked at KPMG, a variety of events companies and at Nestoria.co.uk as a Business Analyst – working with some of the Internet industries most influential professionals.

Having studied at both Imperial and Leeds University, he was the recipient of a scholarship to Leeds University in the first ever entrepreneurial Scholarship Programme.

Whilst still a full time student he raised over £150,000 for an idea he had for a new business. He knows what it is like for students to find investors and develop new businesses.

James came up with the FIG concept after raising finance for his latest business.It was clear to him that students needed an easier route to finding investment and even more importantly, finding the right investors to help their businesses grow.
